many thanks. Dreamy Idealist / 5:47 pm

I would like to thank Avester for helping me with this blogskin!

Oh, long time no post. Not really.
I attended the Crucible yesterday, it was quite fun. BUT i couldnt help my Scouts/RSP in school. Sorry!

The judges liked our ideas. All thanks to me Me and Lie Wen Me, Lie Wen and Joseph.

I am a Dreamy Idealist!!!
Dreamy Idealists are very cautious and therefore often appear shy and reserved to others. They share their rich emotional life and their passionate convictions with very few people. But one would be very much mistaken to judge them to be cool and reserved. They have a pronounced inner system of values and clear, honourable principles for which they are willing to sacrifice a great deal. Joan of Arc or Sir Galahad would have been good examples of this personality type. Dreamy Idealists are always at great pains to improve the world. They can be very considerate towards others and do a lot to support them and stand up for them. They are interested in their fellow beings, attentive and generous towards them. Once their enthusiasm for an issue or person is aroused, they can become tireless fighters. For Dreamy Idealists, practical things are not really so important. They only busy themselves with mundane everyday demands when absolutely necessary. They tend to live according to the motto “the genius controls the chaos” - which is normally the case so that they often have a very successful academic career. They are less interested in details; they prefer to look at something as a whole. This means that they still have a good overview even when things start to become hectic. However, as a result, it can occasionally happen that Dreamy Idealists overlook something important. As they are very peace-loving, they tend not to openly show their dissatisfaction or annoyance but to bottle it up. Assertiveness is not one of their strong points; they hate conflicts and competition. Dreamy Idealists prefer to motivate others with their amicable and enthusiastic nature. Whoever has them as superior will never have to complain about not being given enough praise. As at work, Dreamy Idealists are helpful and loyal friends and partners, persons of integrity. Obligations are absolutely sacred to them. The feelings of others are important to them and they love making other people happy. They are satisfied with just a small circle of friends; their need for social contact is not very marked as they also need a lot of time to themselves. Superfluous small talk is not their thing. If one wishes to be friends with them or have a relationship with them, one would have to share their world of thought and be willing to participate in profound discussions. If you manage that you will be rewarded with an exceptionally intensive, rich partnership. Due to their high demands on themselves and others, this personality type tends however to sometimes overload the relationship with romantic and idealistic ideas to such an extent that the partner feels overtaxed or inferior. Dreamy Idealists do not fall in love head over heels but when they do fall in love they want this to be a great, eternal love.

back from camp, AGAIN./ Epicurean./Discovery. / 5:34 pm

Im back from the First Class Hike!!!

Theres only one word to sum it all up: EXHAUSTING.

No?
Hmm, okay. Carry a 4kg backpack and walk 19 km. =.=

My legs are screaming.... LOL.

Nothing much, we kept walking, walking, and walking, and walking..................

=.=

Before i tell you what i did before the camp, let me tell you this.
For the past 12 years of my life, i thought myself to be a 100% Chinese.
But one day my dad casually mentioned " hey, do you know you're half a baba?"
I almost choked.
Not that i was angry or ashamed, but it was still quite shocking.
Yea, so im half a baba. I cant speak baba malay, which is an interesting mix of hokkien and malay, tetapi saya belajar bahasa indonesia,ya? Jadi saya harus belajar Hokkien...!

Okay, you should close your mouth now, lest a fly go in....

So before the camp i went to eat at "Guan Ho Soon" (i think), a famous peranakan restaurant. Im a self proclaimed epicurean, and i love peranakan food. ( thinking about itek tim, otak-otak,ayam sioh, chap chye and some rice makes me drool). When i went in, i could tell it was more chinese influenced as it had lots of chinese signboards. So we ordered the usual food ( as mentioned above) to compare with the other peranakan restaurant ( Called Pernakan Inn).

Rating
Pernakan Inn: 5/5
Guan Ho Soon: 4/5

Of course my ratings are a little biased, but Peranakan Inn won. Its chap chye is more authentic than Guan Ho Soons. The otak-otak are of the same standards, so it was great. They didnt have ayam sioh, so PI (peranakan inn) won, LOL. GHS (guan ho soon)'s itek tim was more sour beacuse of the kiam chye, but PI's one was sour because of its tamarind, which i preferred. However, GHS also served chinese foods, as its chefs were chong pohs. Chong pos were hired last time as chefs for tok panjangs ( long table feast). They were Hainanese and obviously from China. So they sort of 'stole" the recipes from the nyonyas over time and they started opening their restaurants. Of course, the taste would be a little different as the dish would be more inclined to chinese methods. But it was still great. PI's dishes i think used to be cooked by authentic peranakans, but now they switch to Cheena ppl i think. :(
I still like the food though. :)

Break Away. / 3:34 pm

Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I'd just stare out my window
Dreaming of what could be
And if I'd end up happy
I would pray (I would pray)
Trying hard to reach out
But when I tried to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I prayed
I could break away
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky
Make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget all the ones that I love
Take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jet plane, far away (I will)
And breakaway
Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging around revolving doors
Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but
Gotta keep moving on, moving on
Fly away, breakaway
I'll spread my wings
And I'll learn how to fly
Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye
Take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget the place I come from
I gottaTake a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway

Reflections are 100%. Break Away.

Thorns. CL hw not done yet. THORNS!

Back from Camp. / 2:59 pm

Im BACK!!!

=.=

The Scouts EOY (End of year) camp was quite fun, but i didnt get to cook at ALL. The Sec 1s were bullied by the upper sec Scouts LOL.

MY BOWLING HAS IMPOVED LIKE ****!!!!

My score was 77( 1 game)~

I hope i can improve!

Highest was Fawwaz (did i spell correctly) with 133! WOW.
I thnk Second highest was Wee Loong, but he edited his score to all strikes and then he was disqualified. LOL.

We also had inter patrol games. I played badminton with one short little guy. I thought we were gouing to play well.
.....
.....

It didnt. I ws thrashed in 5 mins flat.
It turned out that we had badminton lessons for 2 years or so. =.=''

So i wasnt that embarrassed after all. But when Fabian (that person) played with the good upper secs, he was disadvantaged as he had a small frame. Even my Adult Leader was suprised as we wasnt the sporty type. Looks are deceiving. 0.o

Yea, thast was about all, quite fun~

WAIT.

There was also the cooking competiton on the last day. All of us went to Giant@Parkway. But before that we had bubble tea ( i like this new flavour, Jasmine Milk Tea XD). Our Pl (patrol leader) Bryan wanted taugay with salted fish and we HE bought three, SMELLY,"DECOMPOSED" ,salted fish.. (ew...)
I didnt eat that and we were last for the veg category. As usual, the Sec1s advice (良言)fell to deaf ears.... LOL.

Overall we were second, i think we won because of our black pepper chicken ( ready made.. hahaha) and the soup. It was almost bak-kut-teh ish, the seniors SPAMMED pepper. And Bryan even wanted CHICKEN bak kut teh. I almost gagged.

Oh and on the second day we watched this rated movie called death race. It shouldnt be death race. It should be fu*k race. I mean, everyone kept using the f word. Essentially, jailbirds had to invent monster, killing cars to race with each other. The winner who wins four consecutive rounds will be freed. The master of the jail is this blond, prim-and-proper old hag. (she was ugly...)

So the lead guy was framed for a murder(by that old hag), and was landed up in that jail. She wanted him to imperonate Frank, an infamous jaibird who has won 3 rounds. All drivers were accompanied by some jailbirds s*uts who woukld give/seduce them?? Not sure.WHilst watching the first few rounds, there was this scence where this China guy called 14k and his mate were being chased my one car with lots of drills and guns. Then he was cornered and his female mate was being drilled by the stomach. Very gross, but the blood looked fake, like some tomato juice. I didnt really enjoy the show, too gory. Some people complained that it was too "mild" and wanted SAW. Urgh. I dont really like horror and gory movies.

So thats about it, im going off for my first class hike on Mon, dont miss me too much... =.=

LOL... bye!!!

orthodontist appointment. / 8:01 pm

I went to the orthodontist last week, 5th December, 2008, for consultation.
Today, 12 December,2002, 4 metal rings were CEMENTED to my molars.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

APPOINTMENT 1
My orthodontist was Dr Loh. He's very nice. When i first went in, he was in the "nice-voice-give-you-lollipops" kind of mode. He asked me my name, age... and school. Guess what? He was also a Victorian(!)Cool. He then analysed my case, and attached 4 blue elastic rings(called separators) on my molars to make a temporary gap. It felt weird, like having things stuck in between your teeth (actually it IS stuck, lol)I was afraid it would fall off, but i guess they were attached quite securely.I would wear it for a week.

APPOINTMENT 2

My appointment was 3.45. i went in @4.15 =.=. I think Dr Loh had temporary STM. He
asked me for my age and school. He was an ex Victorian and he forgot!!! But he suddenlyremembered LOL. He removed my separators and tried on some metal rings. It would anchor the braces. After fitting the right rings, he polished my teeth :) and CEMENTED the rings on my molars (!!) I wonder how he is going to get them off.
The attachemnt was quite messy. I think the brush-thingamabob was quite strong. Though the suction was strong, saliv* and cement sprayed. And the brush-thingamabob emitted a high pitched sound. ( Like the silent ringtone, only ten times worse.)
After a while, the attachment was finished. My mom paid (duh) and we went for dinner.
I thought it was almost " invisible" as the separators, nut after taking a first bite of my hokkien mee, it was SO HARD TO CHEW. It was quite uncomfortable. I practically had to use my front teeth to NIBBLE the noddles. Urgh. I took 1 to 2 hours to finish the noodles. Then, (silly me) i went to order bubble tea with PEARLS. How was i going to chew them. I almost went crazy. ( im a bubble tea addict).
And the anchors(metal rings) would be there till they remove my braces. oh my gosh.
2 years of not drinking bubble tea???? Im going to go insane.

I have to find a way to chew, no matter what.

!!!!!!!!!!!

I added a "Dont please click here!!!" button and MISC section...it leads to the hotel.... But i'll remove it after a few days. HAHA!

3) the website is accessible from 6am to 6pm.(or is it the other way???) thats why its 626, get it? However, you can trick the website by changing yr com time.

For tns 5f-ers...
